Gemma Martínez

University of the Country (UPV/EHU)

Gemma Martínez (PhD) is a researcher at the University of the Country (UPV/EHU) where she developed her doctoral thesis within the framework of the EU Kids Online project (Better Internet for Kids EC). Her research interests are focused on the process of parental mediation on the Internet and how this might affect children´s wellbeing. During her years of residence in London, where she moved to do a research stay at the LSE (London School of Economics and Social Sciences)- Department of Media and Communications, she combined her academic career with working in different schools in London with children with different special needs. Gemma has a passion for studying, working and learning about children´s development and collaborates actively with Spanish institutions, which promote a safer use of the new technologies.
